The Outdoor Life at Larchwood

Home of Moth in a China Shop

Welcoming Youth Groups and School’s

Over the past few years Moth in a China Shop has been working with local Scouts; they visit Larchwood every year for a weekend of fun in the outdoors. We are keen to work with other youth groups and schools, encouraging them to visit our site for a weekend or indeed a midweek camping experience.

In the past the scouts have built hedgehog and bug hotels, sang around the fire pit, cooked delicious BBQ food and generally enjoyed the amazing outdoor space.

Old Larchwood was planted over 200 years ago and plays home to rare species of trees and an abundance of wildlife including Deer, Squirrels, Birds of Prey, Rabbits and many more. We love our furry, flying and four legged friends at Old Larchwood as it makes the experience that little bit more removed from the hustle and bustle of society and everyday life, so we ask the same of you to please respect our wildlife and our woodland too.

Larchwood now has toilets and showers, electricity, drinking water, lighting including our magical trees which are covered in fairy lights, parking and good access to large vehicles. On request we also provide a BBQ, cooking utensils, kettle, fridge and freezer. The only thing we don’t supply is the tents!

You also have access ‘Arthur’s Home Ground’ which is around 3 miles from Larchwood. It is free to use for sports of your choice.

The donation to stay in our wood is £3 per night per child.
