Aiding in the work of the Chamwell Centre Charity
As part of our mission to enable all the opportunity to have access to sports and better their lives through engagement in sport, we have provided a donation to the Chamwell Centre Charity in Gloucestershire.
Our donation will go towards turning the charities vision into a reality for the Chamwell Centre; a new state-of-the-art therapy facility. Although primarily for use during the day for the 300 children of The Milestone School; an outstanding school for pupils with special needs ages 3-16. At all other times the Centre will reach out to the wider community. This will include children with disability, such as muscular dystrophy or cerebral palsy, who attend other schools and colleges, pre-school children as well as adults with painful conditions such as rheumatoid arthritis, and people recovering from joint surgery and injury.
The benefits from having such facilities available are clearly evident in the story of Max Quinn. A 17-year-old former student of Milestone who has overcome his cerebral palsy. Once told that he may never walk, through using hydrotherapy and the sport of race-running Max has astounded everybody - especially his doctors.
We wish the Chamwell Centre the best of luck in their continued fundraising and look forward to hearing the stories of those benefitting from its existence in the future!
